Judge Issues Strict Warning 6ix9ine Threatened With Jail For Dodging Court

6ix9ine has failed to be committed with his court hearings and the court of law overhearing his case is growing impatient with the bold rapper. Judge Edwin Novillo has issued a stern warning to 6ix9ine’s legal team of the consequences he might face for the constant failure to appear in court.

The Brooklyn artist skipped out on his court date Wednesday, leading to the judge’s firm warning. Novillo instructed 6ix9ine’s attorney that an official call for the defendant’s arrest will be issued if he bails on his court commitments again.

“Counselor, if your client is not here on Tuesday, [expect] a bench warrant.”

Lawyers tried to justify his reason for not appearing in court, stating that the entertainer had previously missed court this summer after being beaten and robbed. His latest instance of being absent was chalked up to his work schedule. Lawyers stated that his work obligations caused a delay in his return to New York, citing issues with flight schedules.

“The defendant was in Dubai, was in the Netherlands, and is trying to come back today.”

The reasoning did not, however, intimidate the prosecutor’s office . The prosecutor shot back a response, pointing to a lack of responsibility.

“All that [indicates] is he should have booked a flight a day early.”

6ix9ine is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
